BBM
One of the best messenger app in the top charts of Google play is BBM. From September bbm is being using by people all around the world. The stylish smooth and user friendly app makes the user to keep one of their favorite app.
BBM has its own innovative ideas merged in the app and brings out to be a good competitor for the messenger app that is available in Google play.
TO CONNECT: BBM requires you to have a blackberry account and you can have an account by signing up with your E-Mail Id. If the account is ready, you will be provided with a personal pin and only by that people can add you up in BBM.
ADDING PEOPLE: To add up anyone in BBM, you need to get their personal pin. then on the left tab in the invite option you can add up using their pin or there are ways to add up like invite via message, E-Mail or using a QR code.
BBM gives this pin feature to keep up your privacy by not allowing users to check you out with either your phone number or E-Mail Id.
DESIGN
The design is smooth but it will take few days to get used to it and the use of the keyboard is bit hard because you might come in contact with the Emoji option available top right of the keyboard. There is a left side menu bar that will lead you to chat, contacts, groups, invites.
MESSAGING
Sending message in BBM is quiet simple and straight forward. You are given option of sending message, voice, photos to any of your BBM contacts. When the message is delivered there will a D icon next to the message and when the message is read by the recipient then the icon changes to R.
You can also utilize the group chat feature in BBM where you can create a new group or you can add people to the existing group and one of the hands down feature is that you cannot send a photo to a group chat but can send only to one user.
DRAWBACKS
BBM might have many advanced features compared to other messaging app on store but there are few drawbacks and let downs too. There is no feature of sharing your location to user and there is no option of sending your calender event. There is no video calling feature so it has to be ranked back to the apps which provides both video calling and messaging functionality.
CONCLUSION
BBM is an amazing package for messaging with notable stunning features with advanced functionality but when compared to other video calling app BBM might look old fashioned and the notable features like ping, photo sharing improved UI gives you a handy look to use it easily and effectively.
